2026 Summer

This year the St. Louis Rockets will offer a variety of Summer Programs! Summer Programming this year includes our Smart Hockey Camp, Conditioning and Battle Camp, Power Skating, Transition to Full Ice (for new and first year 10U players) and a Checking Clinic for our 14U players.

On ice Camps

Rockets Smart Hockey Camp

The Rockets Smart Hockey Camp will feature Coach Jill Rowland and Coach Mike Richards and is designed to provide players with an opportunity to take their game to the next level through development on the ice and off the ice. This camp has been designed for players in the 10U, 12U and 14U age groups who are serious about improving their game.

Players will be on the ice two hours per day and will work on their technique, learn offensive zone strategies, defensive zone concepts, angles, and much more! Classroom sessions will consist of video analysis and whiteboard instruction. Outdoor activities may be conducted so please make sure your player brings outdoor workout clothing!

Conditioning and Battle Camp

The end of July is a great time to get ready for evaluations! The Conditioning and Battle Camp will provide players with 10 hours of on ice training to help players prepare for the 2026-2027 Season Evaluations! Skaters and Goalies will participate in on ice drills including conditioning, skating, shooting, stickhandling, strength, agility, puck protection and much more! Dust off your skates and put some fresh tape on your sick and join us for this high energy and up tempo camp to get ready for evaluations.

Power Skating

This summer, the Rockets will offer two rounds of two Power Skating! Each Round will have two sessions as well! A 45 minute session will be offered on Monday evenings and a 60 minute session will be offered on Wednesday evenings.

Power Skating will focus on all aspects of skating from edge work, explosiveness, balance, agility and overall power through a series of specifically designed drills. Skaters will develop a more explosive and longer stride, learn to trust their edges, and will be challenged to improve their skating with each session. Power Skating sessions will be skating intensive, with very little, if any, stick handling or shooting included. Effective skating technique is the foundation of hockey and Power Skating is an essential tool to build this foundation!

Transition to Full Ice

The Rockets Transition To Full Ice is open to all St. Louis players who have completed an 8U regular season with any organization, completed a Learn to Play program, or have graduated from the Little Blues.

If your player was born in 2017, or your player is brand new to hockey, this is a great opportunity to learn the basics of hockey on full ice! Players will learn the basics of offsides, icing, penalties, different positions, differences in various "zones" of the game, "hockey lingo", and much more! Don't miss out on this opportunity before Spring League games start!

Checking Clinic

The Rockets offer a 2 hour checking clinic for players moving into the Bantam age classification that will address the basics of body checking, angling, and safety to ensure that your player transitions smoothly into the demands of checking in the 14U age group. Through the checking clinic, players will learn the fundamentals of checking to ensure that they know how to protect themselves, and others, from injury.

Mike Richards and a veteran MIOHA Referee who will explain to players what referees look for, in regards to checking, when officiating games where checking is allowed.
