Midget Program
Welcome to the St. Louis Rockets Midget Program, the premier destination for Midget aged players in the Saint Louis Area! During the 2024-2025 season, the Rockets Midgets won Blue Note Cups for both 18U AA and 16U A1.
The Rockets Midget Program is affiliated with Missouri Hockey and play in the following dividsions:

- 18U AA: The Rockets are pleased to announce that the coaches for our 18U AA team will be Jim Goodman and Julie Iler! Both Coach Goodman and Coach Iler have strong coaching backgrounds and have both led the Rockets Midgets to winning seasons and Blue Note Cup Victories

16U AA & A1 Contracts: The Rockets coaches reserve the right to offer contracts to a limited number of players prior to tryouts. Players who are selected for contracts will be notified by the appropriate age division coach and will be forwarded their contract through their Crossbar Registration. Rockets coaches will adhere to the following guidelines when offering pre-tryout contracts:
- 3 Forwards may be selected
- 3 defenseman may be selected
- 1 goalie may be selected
- Players will have 24 hours to accept the contract, after 24 hours the contract will be retracted.
- The Rockets Director of Hockey, Mike Richards, will be notified of, and approve, all pre-tryout contracts.
- All pre-tryout contracts will be submitted to Mike Richards prior to tryouts
- Coaches may offer contracts for additional players after the first tryout
- The Rockets Director of Hockey, Mike Richards, will approve all contracts prior to offering.
Tryouts: Midget Tryouts will follow a format similar the the Missouri Hockey Central District Tryouts. During tryouts, players will be randomly placed onto teams. Players will be provided with a team jersey to wear during games. Jerseys must be turned in at the end of each tryout. Each team will have the opportunity to scrimmage the other teams, in a round robin format, once. Upon completion of the round robin style play, select players will be selected for the All Star Game. All tryouts will be overseen by Rockets Director of Hockey, Mike Richards.

Tryout Teams will be announced on Friday, July 16th
Practices: As the premier Midget Program in the St. Louis area, all players are expected to attend practices regularly. Prior to the beginning of high school, all Midget teams will practice at lease once a week. Once high schools are in session, practices will be reduced to accommodate players high school schedules. The majority of practices will be scheduled for weekends however weekday practices may be assigned as well. Midget practices will consist of both solo sheet and shared sheet ice allotments. In addition, Midget teams will be provided with the opportunity to utilize the Rockets Off Ice facility for video review and training purposes.
Note: Midget practices may begin after 8:30 pm.
Midget Season: During the 2025-2026 Midget Season, the following guidelines will be followed for each team:
- All uniform designs, purchases, and specific items (ie jerseys, socks, shells) are the responsibility of each team and all designs must be approved by the Rockets staff.
- Each team will be responsible for non parent coaching expenses when traveling to, during and from, out of town games/tournaments.
- Non parent coaches will be paid by the Rockets Organization.
