Sunrise Skills

Start your day on the ice with the St. Louis Rockets Sunrise Skills program, held Tuesdays from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM at Brentwood Ice Rink throughout the month of February. Led by Coach Mike Richards and Jillian Rowland, this high-tempo morning skills session is built for motivated players who are willing to skip the snooze button and get better while others are still asleep.

This program is open to any player in the St. Louis area, regardless of organization. Players must be able to skate adequately at game speed and come with an open mindset toward coaching, instruction, and correction. This is a development driven environment focused on accountability and growth.

There will be two goalie spots available per date for 10U and above. There will be no charge and no goalie specific training offered during any of these dates. 8U and 6U Goalies, please contact Jillian Rowland if your goalie wants to attend any of the sessions. 8U and 6U goalies will be free as well.

The Rockets reserve the right to remove any player from this program if behavior or effort does not meet expectations. Our goal is to maintain a positive, respectful, and productive learning environment for all participants.

Players wishing to skate in a session above their assigned skill level must receive prior approval. Approval for 10U, 12U, 14U players must come from Mike Richards, and approval for 6U/8U players must come from Jillian Rowland.

Players who register for a higher skill level without approval may be issued a full refund and removed from that session. Please note that waitlists will be considered when determining whether a player is permitted to skate up to a different level.

Each session emphasizes:

• Skating mechanics and edge control. This may include some power skating
• Puck handling fundamentals
• Shooting and scoring techniques
• Game specific skill application and pace

Cost: $40.00 per Skater

YOU MUST BE SIGNED UP AND PAID PRIOR STEPPING ONTO THE ICE.

Goalies are free but still must sign up

Sunrise Skills is fast-paced, detail-oriented, and demanding. If you’re hitting snooze, you’re missing reps. Players are expected to show up ready to work, compete, and set the tone for their day.

Please sign up your player in accordance to their level and age group below.

February 3rd: 8U Blue Only and 6U - 6 AM to 7 AM

February 10th: 8U White Only and 8U Blue Only (No 6U) - 6 AM to 7 AM

February 17th: 8U Red and 8U White Only (No 6U) - 6 AM to 7 AM

February 24th: 8U Blue Only and 6U - 6 AM to 7 AM

All Sessions will be held at Brentwood Ice Rink
